Summit of Mount Argopuro has the height of 3.088 m above sea level. There are two routes to go to Mount Argopuro, from Baderan-Besuki and from Bremi village in Probolinggo.

It is easy to reach Bremi as there are buses depart from Probolinggo that will go to the village. It’s better to stay overnight in this village. There is a small and quite cheap inn here. It seems that the inn was built during the Dutch colonial periode. The inn is surrounded by a beautiful and natural scenery, that make rustic athmosphere. Before climbing the mountain, we shoud report to the local police or the local PHPA in Bremi.
Taman Hidup Lake
In the next morning, walking for about 3 hours passing the agathis plantation and tropical forest. We’ll arrive at Taman Hidup lake. We can use the water for drink and cooking. We can also set a tent and stay overnight around the lake or close to the river in the higher place. Taman Hidup lake is fabuluous and unique. It is surrounded by dense of tropical forest and fishes diversity live in the lake, which are very easy to fish or even catch by freehand.
The morning after, we can start climbing to the peak of Mount , by turning half of the lake. It will take about 6 hours to reach the peak. The summit is called Dewi Rengganis peak, as there is a Dewi Rengganis statue found close to the peak. The peak has a trace of sulfur crater.

On the way down from the peak, we can take either Alun-alun Besar continue to Besuki through Baderan village. Otherwise, by turning the peak, we dan return to Bremi. Alun-alun Besar is a grassy wide plain, used to propose as a military airport by Japan colonial in the past.
Mount Argopuro is seldom climbed, except during the long school holiday or in dry seasons. Mount Argopuro is unique. It has many historic places from the ancient kingdom up to the Ducth and Japanese colonial periods. It is also a beautiful view. We will find various wildlife such as deers, monkey, wild pigs, birds, snakes etc. as the forest ground of Mount Argopuro is still natural. Is further information available here?
